No one in 1960 knew when a strain of coronavirus was identified from the nasal discharges of common-cold patients that this is the same virus that would cause a pandemic in the world. The strain of coronavirus, known as SARS – CoV was responsible for causing the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome outbreak in the year 2003. MERS- CoV, the mutated strain of coronavirus was responsible for Middle East Respiratory Syndrome outbreak in the years 2005, 2012, and 2015. The recent pandemic which has its origin in Wuhan, China at the end of 2019 is caused by COVID-19 and has affected the lives of people all over the world.
